Nature of Work:

Performs limited supervisory and semi-skilled manual work involving general maintenance and repair of wastewater collection systems, facilities and grounds. Employees assigned to this classification perform a variety of tasks involving above-average physical effort and operation of power tools and equipment requiring some manipulative skills and frequent exposure to chemicals, noxious fumes, raw sewage and garbage and extreme weather conditions. Work is assigned and carried out according to oral and written instructions, usually from an assistant supervisor or field supervisor and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, meetings, and review of work orders to ensure quality and timeliness.

Minimum Requirements
Ability to read, write and follow instructions with a minimum of two (2) years' experience in public works (ie., construction, maintenance, and/or repair of manholes, force-mains, reclaim water or the sanitary sewer collections systems including the use of tools and equipment used in construction, maintenance and repair work. A GOAA Secure Area Access I. D. badge is required within ninety (90) days of hire. Some positions may be required to pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face plate.

Some positions may require a valid Florida Driver's License and home telephone depending on assignment.
