THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEED.

Nature of Work:
Prepare parking lots and garages for event operations. Direct traffic entering and leaving parking facilities. Provides direct customer service including verbal or written directions to venues and facilities status of lots and garages, safety hazards, customer problems, law enforcement or traffic control issues, and other related information. May be required to remove debris or obstructions from immediate work area. Duties include (set up signs and devices, receive/verify start bank, provide change, scan/collect permits, conduct check and credit transactions and validations, count/reconcile bank, prepare reports/deposits & direct traffic). Majority is outdoor work and involves exposure to all weather conditions, traffic fumes, etc.

Work Hours:
Hours are based on scheduled events. Most events occur in the evenings. Shift-end times can range from 8:30 pm to 2:00 am. An open schedule is preferred.

Shift 1: Weekend Shifts - Friday and Saturday Nights 4:00PM to 9:00PM or 4:00PM to 2:00am or 9:00pm to 2:00am

Shift 2: Event Shifts - Amway, Dr. Phillips Center, Exploria Event afternoons/nights

Work Location: Any City owned parking garages and facilities in downtown Orlando

Minimum Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent and six (6) months cash handling and customer service experience required. Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods, run when necessary, often under hot and humid condition and in inclement weather. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds. Requires ability to work a fast-paced environment for four hours without breaks. Requires sharp attention to detail. Valid Florida driver license required. Must pass a criminal background check and polygraph examination.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Good arithmetic reasoning skills.
  • Experience in the parking industry.
  • Experience with computerized revenue control systems; cash, ticket, and permit handling and control.
  • Knowledge of parking and traffic control procedures around events serving up to 20,000 patrons.

VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
