General Maintenance Technician I - $38,646.40 - $49,275.20 (depending on experience)
General Maintenance Technician II - $40,976.008 - $52,228.80 (depending on experience)

Nature of Work
General Maintenance Technician I

Performs skilled work involving general maintenance and event conversion repairs for Orlando Venues Amway Center. Work involves duties which require the application of journey level skills as well as event conversion services responsibilities. Primary duties include maintenance and repairs of building systems and other general maintenance tasks while assisting the building conversion manager with operations and event conversion needs. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through periodic inspections, direct observation, and condition of facilities.

General Maintenance Technician II
Performs skilled work involving general maintenance and repair of municipal buildings. Work involves duties which require the application of journey level mechanical skills as well as basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills. Primary duties include maintenance and repair of heating and air conditioning systems, replacing and repairing plumbing and electrical fixtures, repairing carpet and other general maintenance tasks. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through periodic inspections, direct observation, and condition of facilities.

Minimum Requirements
General Maintenance Technician I
High school graduate or G.E.D. Training in the maintenance and repair of building systems and event conversion desired. General
Maintenance Tech 1 Two years' experience in general building maintenance and event conversion tasks, or one of the trades.
Must possess Journey Level competency card in one of the following trades to qualify for the II level position (Electrical, Heating and AirConditioning, or Plumbing). Florida Driver License required prior to employment.

General Maintenance Technician II

High school graduate or G.E.D. Training in the maintenance and repair of heating ventilation, and air-conditioning systems desired.
Four years experience in general building maintenance or one of the trades.
Must possess Journey Level competency card in one of the following trades to qualify for the II level position (Electrical, Heating and Air-Conditioning, or Plumbing). Florida Driver License required prior to employment. Florida Driver License required prior to employment.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
