THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEED.

The dynamic City of Orlando department operates five distinct venues including Amway Center, Camping World Stadium, Tinker Field, Mennello Museum of American Art and Harry P. Leu Gardens. NATURE OF WORK:

Performs skilled work in the preparation, cultivation, and care of the grounds and of flowers, ornamental plants, shrubs, and trees at Leu Gardens. Prune plants; prepare soils and bedding for planting; prepare and dispense plant and lawn care chemicals; and assist the public with horticulture related questions. Work is performed outdoors and involves exposure to unfavorable weather conditions and insects. Work is performed under direct supervision and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through observations, discussions, and results obtained.

WORK LOCATION: Leu Gardens, 1920 N. Forest Ave., Orlando, Florida

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in Horticulture or related field required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid Florida Driver's License is required.

VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT.
