NATURE OF WORK:

Performs skilled maintenance work in the care of special Parks facilities. Employees in this class are responsible for the performance of a variety of tasks in the general maintenance and minor repair of parks buildings, facilities, and equipment. This requires working knowledge of medium and heavy machinery such as John Deere tractor, zero turn mowers, single axle tailor, Toro workman carts, golf carts and various city vehicles etc. Will operate a variety of small to medium hand held equipment such as powers tools, blowers including ride behind blowers, pressure washers, water wagon, line/string trimmers etc. (other duties as assigned). Work is performed outdoors and employee is exposed to weather conditions, insects, and various chemicals. Work is performed with limited supervision and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion.

WORK SCHEDULE: Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule and available seven days a week including evenings, weekends and holidays. Schedules are subject to change based on division needs, park schedule, and events.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent, plus two (2) years of experience in grounds and general building maintenance required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid Florida Driver's License required.

VALID DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
