NATURE OF WORK:

Performs skilled maintenance work in the care of City Parks. Responsible for a variety of tasks in Grounds maintenance. General knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and skilled in the use of ZTR lawn mowers, push mowers, hand and gas power tools. Work is performed outdoors and employee is exposed to extreme weather conditions, insects, and various chemicals. Work is performed with limited supervision and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion.

WORK SCHEDULE : Schedule is usually 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. including two weekends a month and is subject to change based on division needs and event schedule.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent, plus two (2) years of experience in grounds or general building maintenance required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid Florida Driver's License required.

VALID DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
