Nature of Work:
Performs administrative and professional work managing the City's Paving Management Plan by coordinating with other departments and jurisdictions on pavement rehabilitation to meet performance goals. An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities to ensure projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Serve as the resource for pavement management and pavement engineering and provides technical guidance and assistance on pavement systems, design, construction, and maintenance of new and rehabilitated pavement structures. Work is performed under the general direction of the City Engineer and performance is reviewed through both formal and informal meetings, reports, and results achieved.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, or construction management and two (2) years of experience in design, inspection, and project management, a significant portion of which must have included pavement inspection, rehabilitation, and preservation: or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Track record in performing pavement condition assessments and managing a significant inventory of roadways using the Pavement Management System (PMS) model desired. Valid registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida required. Valid Florida driver license required.
DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE SUBMITTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
DOCUMENTATION OF PE LICENSE MUST BE ATTACHED AT TIME OF APPLICATION.
