Minimum Starting Salary:
- Payroll Specialist I: $19.69 to $25.11 per hour, depending on qualifications
- Payroll Specialist II: $20.79 to $26.51 per hour, depending on qualifications
- Payroll Specialist III: $21.95 to $27.99 per hour, depending on qualifications
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs paraprofessional work and is responsible for advanced payroll calculations and fiscal functions. Processes bi-weekly payroll and off cycle payroll. Provides employee, supervisor and vendor assistance with Payroll related functions and procedures. Work is performed under the supervision of the Payroll Manager.
Minimum Requirements
Payroll Specialist I: Associate degree in accounting/bookkeeping or related area with two (2) years experience in house payroll processing required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Able to operate personal computer and experience in data entry and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Adobe) is required and specific knowledge in Kronos and Workday is highly desired. Must pass police background investigation which includes polygraph.
Payroll Specialist II: Same as Payroll Specialist I, above, but requires 3 years experience as specified.
Payroll Specialist III : Same as Payroll Specialist I, above, but requires 4 years experience as specified.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
