Minimum Starting Salary:
Planner I: $23.54 - $30.01 per hour, depending on qualifications
Planner II: $26.40 - $33.66 per hour, depending on qualifications
Planner III: $26.98 - $35.75 per hour, depending on qualifications

NATURE OF WORK:
Performs professional work in urban design. A focus on landscape architecture is preferred but not required for this position. An employee in this class performs a variety of program or project planning activities which impact municipal development and include analyzing data, reviewing proposed development conditions and plans as well as formulating and recommending plans and programs relevant to municipal conditions and needs. Work is performed under the direction of a Planning Supervisor or Chief Planner and is reviewed through conferences, reports submitted and results obtained. The position is in the Planning Division's Community Planning Studio.
Minimum Requirements
Planner I: Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, planning, urban design, architecture required or related field and six (6) months urban design experience required, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid Florida Driver's License may be required.
Planner II: Masters degree in landscape architecture, architecture, planning, public administration required or related field; or Bachelor's degree in in architecture, landscape architecture, planning, public administration required, or related field; and two years urban planning or related experience required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Also, experience with CAD, GIS, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, Illustrator or comparable design software is preferred. A valid Florida Driver's License is required.
Planner III: Masters degree in landscape architecture, architecture, planning, public administration required, or related field; or Bachelor's degree in architecture, landscape architecture, planning, public administration, required or related field and four years urban planning or related experience required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Also, experience with CAD, GIS, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, Illustrator or comparable design Software is preferred. AIA, ASLA or AICP Certification is preferred. A valid Florida Driver's License is required.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
