Nature of Work:
Works with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) on strategic planning for departmental structure changes and recommends improvements on processes, policy and procedures. Performs professional technical, administrative and supervisory work with responsibility for performing IT architecture/infrastructure reviews of the City's technology covering systems, software and networks while maintaining a high-level design plan for the overall strategic and technical IT architecture. This incumbent will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level. Plans, directs and supervises the work assigned to IT Architects on the team. Work is performed under the general direction of the CIO with considerable latitude for individual initiative and judgment and is reviewed during meetings and by observation of results achieved and detailed reports.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technology related field required or equivalent technical training with major course work in systems analysis, support/network, or related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of data and enterprise communications systems/networks required, some of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must pass police background investigation.

- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
