Minimum Starting Salary:
- Systems/Networks Administrator I: $26.40 to $33.66 depending on qualifications
- Systems/Networks Administrator II: $26.98 to $35.75, depending on qualifications
- Systems/Networks Administrator III: $29.41to $38.31, depending on qualifications
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks relative to multi-user computer systems, servers, and networks in the Industrial Automation Group for the City's Water Reclamation Division. Responsibilities include specification, installation, maintenance, configuration, security, tuning, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, capacity planning, client support, and documentation of City computer systems, networks, and associated hardware/software resources. Adherence to City and departmental policies and procedures is required. Work is performed under general supervision of departmental managers subject to periodic review and evaluation. Work requires a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends.
Minimum Requirements
SYSTEMS/NETWORKS ADMINISTRATOR I : Bachelor's degree with major course work in computer science and one (1) year work experience related to multi-user computer system/network administration, management or support; or an equivalent combination of specifically related education, training, and experience is required. Experience with specific computer systems, network technologies, communication protocols, or programming languages could be desired depending on assignment. A valid Florida Driver's License is required. Must pass police background investigation.
SYSTEMS/NETWORKS ADMINISTRATOR II: Bachelor's degree with major course work in computer science and at least two (2) years' work experience related to multi-user computer system/network administration, management or support; or an equivalent combination of specifically related education, training, and experience is required. Experience with specific computer systems, network technologies, communication protocols, or programming languages could be desired depending on assignment. A valid Florida Driver's License is required. Must pass police background investigation.
SYSTEMS/NETWORKS ADMINISTRATOR III: Bachelor's degree with major course work in computer science and at least five (5) years' work experience, including some City employment related to multi-user computer system/network administration, management or support; or an equivalent combination of specifically related education, training, and experience is required. Experience with specific computer systems, network technologies, communication protocols, or programming languages could be desired depending on assignment. A valid Florida Driver's License is required. Must pass police background investigation.
DESIRED QUALIFCATIONS: VMWare, networking, switches, routing, wireless networks, and both Windows and Linux servers administration/maintenance. PRTG monitoring software or equivalent Network Management Software experience. EMC Data Domain and Avamar backup, and Fortinet equipment configuration experience. Experience with Powershell scripting preferable. Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot fiber connectivity. Any familiarity with Industrial automation is a plus.
