Starting Salary:
Traffic Electronics Tech I: $18.94 - $24.14 per hour, depending on qualifications
Traffic Electronics Tech II: $20.31 - $25.89 per hour, depending on qualifications
Nature of Work:
Performs skilled journey level work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic and micro-processor based traffic control equipment. Work may involve lead responsibility for the application of electronic theory and practices to the installation, maintenance, and precision repair of electronic and micro-processor based traffic signal equipment and related traffic control devices. Required to stand duty at night and weekends on a rotating basis. Work is performed with considerable independence under general direction of a Traffic Signal Maintenance supervisor and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion, through conferences, and direct observation.
Work Schedule : 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM four days a week. Some off-shifts and holidays required based on conditions, projects, and event schedule. May be required to work night shift on a rotating basis if conditions dictate.
Minimum Requirements
Traffic Electronics Tech I: High School Diploma or equivalent, plus three (3) years of experience in traffic signal maintenance or electronics required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Certification by the International Municipal Signal Association as a Traffic Signal Technician, Level I preferred. Valid Florida CDL Class B License r equired within 12 months of hire.
Traffic Electronics Tech II: High School Diploma or equivalent, plus five (5) years experience in traffic signal maintenance, or five years electronics experience, one (1) of which must have been in traffic signal maintenance required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Certification by the International Municipal Signal Association as a Traffic Signal Technician, Level I & II is required within 12 months of hire . A valid Florida CDL Class B License is required within 12 months of hire.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
