Minimum Starting Salary:
Traffic Maintenance I: $16.85 - 21.48 per hour, depending on qualifications
Traffic Maintenance II: $17.87 - 22.78 per hour, depending on qualifications

Nature of Work:

Performs semi-skilled work in the fabrication, installation of Right-of-Way signs, the application of pavement markings, the application of thermoplastic markings, and ensure proper placement of traffic barricades and cones. Installation of temporary raised humps, installation and removal of temporary curbing and delineator posts; program, installation, and maintenance of driver feedback signs. Assists with Traffic Control for special events, maintenance and construction activities. Work is performed under the supervision of the Traffic Control Supervisor or designee and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through observation and discussions.

Working Hours : Generally 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, four days a week. Some off-shifts and holidays required per Division needs.

Minimum Requirements
Traffic Maintenance I : High school graduate plus six (6) months experience in Signs & Markings installation required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office desired. Must be safety conscious as work is performed in the streets. Must obtain an International Municipal Signs & Markings Level I within 6 months of hire. Must obtain Florida Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) or Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification within 6 months of hire. Valid Florida driver license required.

Traffic Maintenance II : Same as Traffic Maintenance I, above, but requires three (3) years of experience as specified. Certified International Municipal Signs & Markings Level I required. Level II Signs & Marking Certification preferred. Florida Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) or Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification required.

DOCUMENTATION OF TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS MUST BE PROVIDED WITH ONLINE APPLICATION TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION.

VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
