Minimum Starting Salary:
Utility Construction Inspector I
$23.54 - 30.01 per hour, depending on qualifications

Utility Construction Inspector II
$24.86 - 31.70 per hour, depending on qualifications

Utility Construction Inspector IIII
26.40 - 33.66 per hour, depending on qualifications

NATURE OF WORK:

Performs technical field inspection and office work enforcing state and local laws, ordinances and regulatory codes governing the design, construction, and renovation of public works utilities and Water Reclamation facilities. Work involves conducting final inspections and the review of documentation, including as-built/record drawings, review of CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) recorded on DVD of private sewer mains; review of engineer's certification of force main pressure tests, lift station start up reports, easement documentation and other applicable documentation. Employees assigned to this classification must exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment in the interpretation and application of codes in making technical decisions. Work is performed under general supervision, according to established guidelines, and performance is reviewed through reports submitted, meetings, and results obtained for technical sufficiency and consistent application.

Minimum Requirements
Utility Construction Inspector I : Associates Degree with coursework in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Construction Management and two years experience in utility infrastructure inspection or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Polygraph examination required. Valid Florida drivers license required.

Utility Construction Inspector II : Same as Utility Construction Inspector I, above, but requires four years experience as specified. National Association of Sewer service Companies Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (NASSCO PACP) certification preferred.

Utility Construction Inspector III : Same as Utility Construction Inspector I, above, but requires six years experience as specified. National Association of Sewer service Companies Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (NASSCO PACP) certification required.

VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
