Starting Salary:
Utility Service Worker I
$15.90 per hour
Utility Service Worker II
$16.85 per hour
Nature of Work:
Performs semi-skilled work in the Operations and Maintenance of the Wastewater Lift Stations and associated support systems (odor control systems, air compressors, chemical metering pumps and controls, etc.). Required to work under adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed under the direction of a lead worker in a higher classification, such as Mechanic, Electrician or Lift Station Operator, as directed by the section Supervisor, and is reviewed by the direct observation, while in progress and upon completion.
Regular Schedule: Five days per week, eight hours per day, including weekends. Subject to change based on division needs.
Minimum Requirements
Utility Service Worker I : Ability to read, write and follow instructions. One year of experience in operation and maintenance of Lift Stations is preferred.
Utility Service Worker II : High School graduate with two years of experience in Lift Stations operations/ maintenance. Operation and maintenance of pumping stations; or and equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
ALL LEVELS
- Florida drivers license required
- Must be able reliably to be contacted in case of an emergency work situation.
- Must pass annual respirator physical.
- No facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face piece:
Employees must be clean shaven at the start of their assigned work shift . - Must obtain security clearance and GOAA ID within 90 days of employment and maintain same.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT.
